The Map gives you a feel for who is around you by area. Positions are worked out on our servers in squares about 11 km across, so nobody’s exact location is ever sent to other members’ phones, whether you are in a busy neighbourhood or a quiet one.
English, French and 21 more languages
Canada is officially bilingual, and many Canadians also grew up with another language at home. On Heartwave you choose the language you want to read your messages in, and messages you receive are translated into it automatically. The original is always shown underneath, so you see exactly what was written.
That means an anglophone in Ontario and a francophone in Quebec can chat naturally, and newcomers to Canada do not have to wait until their English or French feels perfect to start meeting people.
Compatibility first, photos second
Your Heartprint describes four parts of you, each from 0 to 100: communication, lifestyle, values and social energy. Every profile in Discover shows a compatibility score built from how close your Heartprints are, with values counting the most.
The Chemistry Check on each profile shows where you are in sync, where you differ and which interests you share. Profiles can also include short videos, a voice intro and prompts, so you get a sense of someone before you say hello.

Safety that fits real dating
New photos and videos stay hidden until they pass a safety check, and reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Optional face verification gives real profiles a verified tick, and the selfie is deleted after the check.
Before a date, DateGuard lets you note where and when you are meeting and sets a check-in time as a reminder to let your trusted contact know you are fine. It does not contact anyone for you, so always tell a friend your plans yourself. If you are ever in danger, call 911.
