Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and more
Heartwave translates the messages you receive into the language you choose. Its 23 languages include Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Turkish, Russian and Arabic, as well as English and many European languages. The original always appears underneath the translation.
A Korean speaker can chat with someone who writes in Indonesian, or a Japanese speaker with someone more comfortable in English, each reading in their own language. Some widely spoken languages, such as Hindi, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Thai, are not translated yet, so those messages are shown as written.
Take your time getting to know someone
Not everyone wants to rush. Heartwave gives you room to build trust gradually:
- Profiles with depth: photos, short videos, a voice intro and prompts.
- Calls inside the app: voice and video calls with matches, without sharing your number.
- Circles: groups around shared interests, from cooking to gaming.
- Pause any time: step away from Discover and the Map while your chats are kept.
Discretion and safety
Your exact location is never sent to other members’ phones; the Map uses squares about 11 km across. New photos and videos stay hidden until they pass a safety check, and blocking someone hides you from each other everywhere. Optional face verification adds a verified tick, and the selfie is deleted after the check.
DateGuard lets you note where and when you are meeting and sets a check-in reminder. It does not contact anyone for you, so share your plans with someone you trust.
