Verified profiles
A verified tick tells people your photos really are you. It is optional, quick and private.
How it works
Take a quick selfie in the app. It is compared with your main profile photo using Amazon Web Services’ face comparison (AWS Rekognition). If they match, your profile gets the verified tick.
If the automatic check is unsure, a Heartwave moderator looks at your selfie next to your profile photos and decides. No other member ever sees your selfie.
What happens to your selfie
- It is deleted as soon as the check is done, and never kept longer than 14 days if a person has to review it.
- We do not keep a faceprint of you. We keep only the result: verified or not.
- It is used only for the verified tick and to keep fake profiles off Heartwave. Never for advertising, never sold, never used to recognise you anywhere else.
Your choice
Verification is optional. You can use Heartwave without it, and you can delete your selfie or withdraw your consent any time from your Profile.
